I have never had a bad experience with a cop while on my bike, in fact they have turned their heads the other way when I probably should have gotten a ticket but this is funny.

I have to remind myself that I train because I want to and not because I am forced to. It was really hard to get motivated to get out and ride today but eventually I convinced myself to. I ended up riding 18.5 miles in Chino Hills and tried out a new climb by Costco. Finished with 1,860 feet of climbing over the 18.5 miles.

Living in Diamond Bar means that there is little to no flat ground as shown by the Elevation map from today’s ride.

Today was just one of those days that I did not feel like doing any training, however i forced myself to get out and at least jog for a bit. The weather was perfect for running and I ended up running for 5 miles at a little slower pace than usual. Went for a 20 mile bike ride a couple days ago as well. I’m trying to stay consistent with my training.

Got a solid brick workout in today with Jason and Chris. We started out in the pool and swam for 1 hour and 30 minutes. They swam 2 miles even. I would estimate that i swam between 1 mile and 1.5 miles. After we finished swimming we rode 2 loops around the prison in Chino Hills at a pretty fast pace, averaging over 17 miles per hour. Tonight is all about resting and recovering.

Put another 18 miles in this morning with Tom Iwata. That puts my weekly bike total at 80 miles! That is the highest weekly total that i have ever had. Training seems to be getting more routine which is great.

Today I had the privilege of riding with 6 Ironman athletes for 35 miles through carbon canyon in Chino Hills, Brea, and Diamond Bar. I can honestly say that it was the hardest that I have ever had to push myself physically, in my entire life. We climbed over 2400 feet throughout the ride but I was able to finish and I am gaining more and more confidence in my fitness everyday. Being able to train with athletes that regularly do Ironman races gives my the opportunity to really improve. I have a Triathlon in Rancho Cucamonga on April 2nd so hopefully i will be able to see some improvement there.

My legs hate me. Today i got to ride PCH from the house in Newport to Long Beach and back. This was the longest ride I have ever gone on and around mile 35 my legs started to feel like they were full of lead. Even though it was a really tough workout I enjoyed it because it was a beautiful day and nothing beats being able to ride your bike along the California coast. I don’t think I have ever burned 1800 calories in one workout before.

Another 21 miles in the books! Got a nice afternoon workout in with Tom. Preparation for the “Race The Base” triathlon is coming along nicely. I am happy with where my biking is at, now its time to start working on my run.

Got a nice 21 mile ride in today. Today was the first time trying a new route in Chino Hills, it looks like it’s 3 miles longer than the usual route. After the ride I had the pleasure of taking Christina to Cocary for some Shabu Shabu =] The food was great. A truly awesome day.
