Got a run workout in today after school. It was getting hot! managed to keep an 8:33 pace. Certainly not racing pace but a good training run nonetheless. Base Amino is now part of every one of my workouts and I have noticed higher energy levels and shorter recovery times. www.baseperformance.com
Cinco de Mayo Run
Tonight i wrestled back and forth on whether to go for a run tonight or not. I got back from Newport around 9 30 P.M., but the weather was too good in Diamond Bar, so I headed up to the DBHS track to do some running. Tonight was also the first night that I had a chance to incorporate BASE Performance into my workout. I took a smaller bottle of water mixed with BASE Amino, and a large bottle of just water.
Because the weather was nice and I was running on a track I was able to average 7:37 per mile for 4 miles. This is one of the fastest paces that I have been able to run over 4 miles, so the results are very encouraging. While It’s too early to pass judgement on how well BASE Amino helped me in my workout, the numbers are there. I will see how my legs feel tomorrow.
Love this girl! ^ Gonna spend all day with her touring San Diego tomorrow!
Follow her @ http://christimystery.tumblr.com/ shes awesome :)
Here’s a really cool training video from the Raelert brothers. Can’t wait to watch Kona this year. I am going to use this to motivate me to go out and run this evening in this 90 degree Southern California weather. I will be using BASE Performance for the first time today as well.
1 Mile Test
I decided to test my mile time today since I have not done so since high school. I did not really know what to expect, so i warmed up and gave it a go. I finished at 6 minutes and 6 seconds. I was hoping i would be able to get it in the 5’s but came up 6 seconds short. I will try again in a couple weeks and see if i can cut 6 seconds somewhere. On the last lap around the track my arms were flailing and my form was terrible due to fatigue.
Base Amino is due to be delivered sometime tomorrow. I’m hoping they drop it off sometime in the morning so I can go out for a longer ride in the afternoon. If not I might have to save it for Wednesday.

I was able to get in a nice 45 minute swim today at the gym, followed by some core work and upper body weights. Although many triathletes do not incorporate any weights into their training, I personally like to use them. However I use very high repetitions and relatively light weights because I am not trying to bulk up, rather just maintain and eliminate any excess fat.
Base Amino is scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday. Looking forward to putting a long workout in as soon as I get it.
I have to remind myself that I train because I want to and not because I am forced to. It was really hard to get motivated to get out and ride today but eventually I convinced myself to. I ended up riding 18.5 miles in Chino Hills and tried out a new climb by Costco. Finished with 1,860 feet of climbing over the 18.5 miles.

Living in Diamond Bar means that there is little to no flat ground as shown by the Elevation map from today’s ride.
5 Mile Run
Today was just one of those days that I did not feel like doing any training, however i forced myself to get out and at least jog for a bit. The weather was perfect for running and I ended up running for 5 miles at a little slower pace than usual. Went for a 20 mile bike ride a couple days ago as well. I’m trying to stay consistent with my training.

4.5 Mile Run
Got in a nice easy 4.5 mile run last night at sunset. The weather was real nice for running and the sky looked awesome. Kept the pace comfortable but still under 9 minutes a mile so i could call it a workout. Once race day, April 2nd, starts getting a little closer i will start to kick up the intensity. Today i got a brick workout with Jason planned. 1.5 hours in the pool followed by 1.5 hours on the bike.

18 Mile Saturday Ride
Put another 18 miles in this morning with Tom Iwata. That puts my weekly bike total at 80 miles! That is the highest weekly total that i have ever had. Training seems to be getting more routine which is great.

Just Keep Swimming
Just got done with a one hour swim workout! It actually seemed to get easier as the time went on. After a ride with Tom tomorrow I will have put in 6 days of training this week and over 80 miles on the bike! Hopefully I can stay consistent with my workouts.
